Wiliam Greengrass 1895 -1970
William Greengrass studied at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art from 1930 and had some of his work as a student featured in publications by Claude Flight, his tutor there. Fellow students of Grosvenor included Schudi, Sybil Andrews and Cyril Power. His interest lay in natural recurring patterns and their visual impact. William's rare and much sought after linocuts are principally concerned with the speed and movement of the human body. His works are held in collections at Galleries including the V & A, the Ashmolean and the British Museum.
