Melanie Miller Art Cards
Working from Eel Pie Island in West London, Melanie Miller's artwork combines the traditions of still-life with those of botanical illustration. Painting in oil on gesso boards that she prepares herself, Miller has acknowledged that her location influences her work; her studio is a small shed in a boatyard, surrounded by a nature reserve and riverbank.
Miller attended Maidstone College, where she earned a BA Hons in Fine Art and later gained her MA in Painting from the Wimbledon School of Art. Miller was shortlisted for the Threadneedle Prize in 2009 and has been a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition since 2002.
