Hannah graduated from the Chelsea School of Art and the Royal College of Art and ever since has worked as a freelance illustrator and printmaker, working with magazines, book publishers and advertisers. In 2004 she won 'Book Cover of the Year' for he work on 'The No1 Ladies detective Agency'. She uses relief print with either lino, vinyl or wood as the engraving material but also sometimes combines the print with paint or collage. Hannah's father, Peter Firmin, with whom Hannah has also exhibited with, is himself a prolific printmaker but perhaps best known for producing, with Oliver Postgate, such characters as Noggin the Nog , the Clangers and Bagpuss.
