Published by Art Angels. Painted in April, 1937, 'Wiltshire Landscape' was sold at the Tooth exhibiton in 1939. This peaceful, bleak and beautiful undulating landscape is made up of several brushstrokes overlaid on each other. It is cleverly composed, with the line of telegraph poles giving a sense of depth, distance and perspective. The toy-like red van was added later by Ravilious.

Ravilious often painted at Furlongs, the home of artist Peggy Angus. This was one of Ravilious's early paintings of Furlongs, painted in 1934. The ploughman in the distance lived in the cottage next door.
