Julian Trevelyan Art Cards


Julian Trevelyan RA (1910 - 1988)

Julian Trevelyan read English Literature at the University of Cambridge. He later moved to Paris where he enrolled at Atelier Dix-Sept. There Trevelyan devevloped his techniquies in etching working alongside artists including Picasso and Miro. Trevelyan moved to Durham Wharf in Hammersmith, London in 1935; the location of his home and studio for the remainder of his life. The local cityscape was a great source of artistic inspiation. Trevelyan taught at both the Chelsea School of Art and at the Royal College of Art. There he had great influences on young artists including Hockney and Ackroyd.
