Cyril Power (1872 - 1951 Limited Edition Fine Art Prints
Born in Chelsea, London in 1872, Cyril Edward Power was encouraged to draw by his father, William Power, an architect. His grandfather, Edwards Power was also an architect and according to Cyril, 'a very able draughtsman & designer and watercolourist'. (from a notebook written by Cyril Power). Cyril was very influenced by this artistic inheritence. Cyril was to become an intricate part of the Grosvenor School of Modern Art in London, led by the influential Claude Flight. During the 1920s and 1930s, The Grosvenor school is widely acknowledged to have been responsible for the development new colour techniques and design in lincocut printing during this inter-war period.
